Garrett Gibbons directed this music video for Theoretics in Seattle, and used bboys (breakdancers) to tell the stories of three individuals from various walks of life who break through barriers, evolve and ascend. Dance is the metaphor to show this transformation, and dancers Jessica Hu, Brian Ung and Mikeskee Huang performed excellently.
Flamenco has always been one of my favorite music and dance genres so it was a pleasure to work with the talented Alma Sanjo (singer, guitarist) and Sarai Lacaci Claros (bailaora) when in Málaga, Spain last week.
Ryan Kasprzak wowed Adam Shankman and the rest of the judges on So You Think You Can Dance? during Season 5, despite not being selected for the top 20 competition with his brother Evan. Ryan is a brilliant choreographer and performer and he focused his talents into this fund-raising piece for DRA Dance.
I had the privilege to film some of the best dancing on the West Coast at the Claws Out II (Seattle) bboy and bgirl competition on May 22, 2010. If you want to see more breakdance footage, check out my footage of the top bboys on the West Coast as recorded at Claws Out II (Seattle) on May 22, 2010.
RA Scion (of the Hip-hop group Common Market) had a side project with producer MTK called Victor Shade. “Soothsayer” launched the album in March 2010, and the video features performances and dancing by the Flying Sneakers Cru of Seattle, led by Michael “Mikeskee” Huang.
The uncut footage from the dance session is raw and impressive as well.
