Double Dose of Cloud Campos

Bboy Daniel “Cloud” Campos, the Illster in The LXD series, brings two videos: one from the outside looking in and the other from the inside looking out.

Bboys telling stories

Garrett Gibbons directed this music video for Theoretics in Seattle, and used bboys (breakdancers) to tell the stories of three individuals from various walks of life who break through barriers, evolve and ascend. Dance is the metaphor to show this transformation, and dancers Jessica Hu, Brian Ung and Mikeskee Huang performed excellently.

Showcase Bboy battle at Claws Out II (Seattle)

El Niño and Junior battle it out in front of an audience with the Cornerstone Band playing live.

The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers does tap too!

I love The LXD. Great dancing in lots of styles, used as a vehicle to tell an engaging story. I post this episode because of the fantastic tap during the first part of this episode.

Check out the entire series on Hulu or follow them on Facebook!

Bboy competition – Claws Out II (Seattle)

I had the privilege to film some of the best dancing on the West Coast at the Claws Out II (Seattle) bboy and bgirl competition on May 22, 2010. If you want to see more breakdance footage, check out my footage of the top bboys on the West Coast as recorded at Claws Out II (Seattle) on May 22, 2010.

Here are some clips from the evening:

Flying Sneakers Cru and RA Scion

RA Scion (of the Hip-hop group Common Market) had a side project with producer MTK called Victor Shade. “Soothsayer” launched the album in March 2010, and the video features performances and dancing by the Flying Sneakers Cru of Seattle, led by Michael “Mikeskee” Huang.

The uncut footage from the dance session is raw and impressive as well.
